CHAPTER THIRTEEN

“Baby I’m not so sure I want you going to New York for a whole week. How are Junior and I going to manage without you?” Trent asked as Lyric packed her suitcase the night before her flight to New York to meet with an agency about her first book.

“Trent I’m going to miss you and Junior too, but I have to take advantage of this opportunity.” Lyric said zipping her suitcase.

“I know you have to go but I wish you’d consider an agency here in California. Because if this agency does sign you, you’ll be back and forth to New York and I don’t think I can handle that baby.”

“If that is the case Trent you’re going to have to make your peace with it. I expect you to support my dreams and goals just like I support yours.”

“I know and I plan to do that but I’m not saying it’s going to be easy or that I’m going to like it.”

“You are such a big spoiled brat Trent Macey.”

“Yep and you love my big spoiled ass.”

“You’re right about that, now come here.”

“Yes ma’am Mrs. Macey.” Trent joked and went over to her.

Trent removed Lyric’s suitcase off of the bed, scooped her in his arms, and laid her down. He worked her body over in a way that he hadn’t in a long time.

“Damn, what the hell was you trying to do to me?” Lyric panted.

“Put it on you.” Trent responded. “I love you baby!”

“I love you too Trent and you don’t have to worry about me in New York.”

“It’s not you I’m worried about it’s the men there that I’m trippin’ off of.”

“Well you don’t have to worry about that either you’re the only man I want.”

Lyric snuggled up to Trent, wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his chest, reassuring him that he was the only man for her. The next morning at 5:00 AM Trent drove Lyric to the LAX airport. When she hugged him in the parking lot he didn’t want to let her go, Lyric had to remind him what time her flight was leaving.

“Baby not trying to spoil the moment, but my plane leaves in two hours and I have to check my bags in.” Lyric said.

“Okay I’ll let you go, but baby please be careful New York is not like Malibu they’ll eat you alive up there if you’re not careful.”

“I’ll keep that in mind honey, I’m a big girl I can take care of myself.”

“I know you can, but I can take care of you better.”

“I love you be good while I’m gone.”

“I love you too, remember what I said baby.”

Lyric boarded the plane and took her seat. When she arrived in New York the agency had a limo waiting at the airport. They drove to the Four Seasons Towers where they had a suite already waiting for her to check into. She settled herself, order some room service, and called Trent.

“Hey baby I was hoping you’d call when your flight landed.
